(IRVING, Texas) — The Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery at The University of Dallas is pleased to present the exhibition: Collecting Every Day
Collecting Every Day is a body of work by Yun Shin that explores how her young son shapes her daily routines and emotional life. Using graphite, gouache, and watercolor on paper, Shin documents early parenthood through the objects and systems her son creates, reflecting themes of love, care, quiet worry, and role reversal. The work becomes a record of evolving relationships and an ongoing dialogue between parent and child.
Yun Shin is an artist and educator whose work explores pattern, repetition, and record-keeping as ways of examining memory and everyday experience. She is an Assistant Professor of Art (Drawing) in the Department of Art & Design at Austin Peay State University. Shin earned her M.F.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and her B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She lives and works in Clarksville, Tennessee.
