WICHITA FALLS / AUSTIN, TX – Jeri Glyn of Jeri Glyn Studios, a native Texan and multidisciplinary designer for over 25 years, has been officially selected as a participant in The People’s Artist. This nationwide competition, presented by Johnny Depp, highlights premier North American talent to support the charity The Art of Elysium.
Glyn’s selection recognizes a career built on structural precision and creative versatility. For more than two decades, she has navigated the worlds of both architectural and jewelry design, bringing a builder’s eye to wearable art. Her “gallery-worthy” jewelry serves as a bridge between these two disciplines, utilizing hand-worked metals, found objects, and gemstones to create pieces that are as much about engineering as they are about aesthetics.
“I believe the body is the perfect exhibition space,” says Glyn. “Art shouldn’t have to wait behind the glass; when it’s made in the form of jewelry, it should be worn and celebrated. Because of my background in architecture, I see jewelry as a way to structure yourself outwardly—it becomes part of who you are once you wear it.”
Based in North Texas and frequently working in Austin, Glyn’s professional reach extends beyond the studio. She has owned and operated a successful marketing firm for over 25 years, boasting a prestigious clientele that includes nationally recognized food, beverage, and candy trade shows. This unique blend of high-level marketing strategy and structural design informs her approach to both her upcoming book and her current artistic endeavors.
Glyn is currently channeling this diverse business expertise into her upcoming book, The Dolly Dividend: Do It the Way Dolly Did It. The book acts as a strategic manual for entrepreneurs, offering a fun but tactical approach to mapping a business road by taking a page out of Dolly Parton’s legendary playbook.
