The Rockwall Art League will host a beginner-friendly acrylic painting workshop with local artist Marcie Penland from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Harry Myers Community Center.
The three-hour workshop, titled “Hydrangeas,” will guide participants step by step through creating a colorful, realistic bouquet of hydrangeas using acrylic paint.
Penland will demonstrate techniques for building color, texture and dimension while helping participants create their own finished floral painting to take home. The class is designed for beginners and painters of all skill levels, and no previous painting experience is required.
All painting supplies will be provided as part of the workshop fee.
The class will be held at the Harry Myers Community Center, 807 E. Washington St. in Rockwall.
The cost is $40 per person. Advance registration is available through the Rockwall Art League at rockwallartleague.org.
