FBCAA Demo/Workshop with Ruben Contreras – Charcoal – Oct. 16

The October 16th meeting of the Farmers Branch Carrollton Art Association will feature artist Ruben Contreras. FBCAA meetings are held August – May (except Dec.) in the Craft Room of Farmers Branch Senior Center at Valwood & Dennis Lane. Meeting schedule: 9:00 -9:30 Social Time; 9:30-10:30 Meeting 10:30-12:00; Demo 1:00 – 3:00 Workshop. GUESTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Meetings are free to attend.

Ruben Contreras was born in Guatemala, the oldest of fourteen brothers and sisters. At an early age he began to develop his artistic talent.

He now lives in Grand Prairie, Texas, with his wife and children. The subject of much of his art reveals his passion for nature. His paintings are done primarily in acrylic, and he exhibits great skill in capturing realistic images and emotional content.

Reuben is a member of the Arlington Visual Arts Association and regularly teaches painting to private students. He actively exhibits his work and has won awards in juried art competitions in Arlington, DeSoto, Irving, Midlothian and Granbury.

Supplies for optional Workshop ($10 to participate):

16 x 20 Canvas OR Good quality drawing paper Charcoal, vine, pencils AND/OR Conte
1 White Conte pencil or white colored pencil Eraser

Tracing Paper Optional (Instructor will have some on hand)
