Holiday Masterpieces: Milan & Mote Dec. 1 at Frisco Fine Art

With the magic of the holidays upon us, we celebrate Henrietta Milan and guest artist William Mote, two Texas artists whose paintings bring us joy. Join us on Saturday, December 1, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. to meet the artists and view their latest work. The evening will also feature a wine tasting and light bites from our new neighbor, Didi’s Downtown.

Artist Henrietta Milan is considered one of America’s most capable contemporary painters in the impressionistic style. Her color-drenched oil paintings of flowers, gardens and children have been described as compelling yet gentle. These subjects inspire cheer in both the artist and her audience. Inspired by Monet, Milan prefers a palette knife to a brush. Her self-taught palette-knife technique allows her to apply thick layers of paint to create depth and dimension. Milan has collectors around the world, including recording artist Kelly Clarkson, author Robert Ludlum and NBA star Danny Ainge. Her work has appeared in some 40 magazines.

Contemporary abstract artist William Mote has had a lifelong passion for fine art. He studied at the Colorado Institute of Art before beginning a career in advertising. Now the owner of a full-service ad agency, he recently found time to pursue painting. His acrylic works are colorful and bold. Rarely using a paintbrush, he opts instead for unorthodox tools like antique spackle knives and wood pieces to apply vivid color combinations to geometric shapes. He often adds small, unrelated images inside his paintings to challenge the viewer to look a little more closely.
