The Creative Arts Center has three opportunities coming up for those who wish to further their artistic skills.

Creative Arts Center 200 W. 5th Street, Bonham, TX 75418 903-640-2196 www.creativeartscenterbonham.com

On Thursday, February 20 from 6:30-8:30 PM is the monthly Art On the Town Painting Party and features two types of acrylic pour painting. The cost is $35, all supplies are included and the instructor is Karen Sigler. Reservations are required with payment. Participants do not need any prior art experience for this fun evening and are invited to byob and snacks.

For more experienced artists who have some drawing and painting capability, Acrylic Painting From a Photograph may be a good choice. This class is designed to show step by step how to transpose a favorite photograph on to the canvas, starting with analyzing the photo and determining how to proceed. Participants should bring their own photo and a 16 x 20″ canvas to paint on. There are some additional supplies needed and a supply list is available. This class runs four weeks on Saturdays, beginning February 22 and finishing up on Saturday, March 14. The cost is $100 and the instructor is Chris Cravens, a well-known artist from Bonham and member of the Creative Arts Center. Reservations are required for this class.

Finally, on March 21, Justin Burns of Golden Paints returns to conduct a one-day workshop on Contemporary Approaches to Mixed Media and Collage. Justin brings all the supplies and participants will be able to use different acrylic paints, mediums, pastes and gels and will go over different ways to produce image transfers and skins utilizing a multitude of techniques. The workshop will begin at 9:30 and run until about 4. Again, reservations are required.
