Denton’s Thin Line Film Festival Partners with Dallas Producers To Go Virtual

Festival Preserves Film Programming In The Midst of Social Distancing

Denton, TX – Denton’s multidisciplinary Thin Line Fest made the decision last week to cancel in-person film screenings and music performances. The festival is just one of many organizations being impacted by public health concerns due to the global pandemic COVID-19. Thankfully Thin Line will be streaming their selection of documentaries online March 25 – 29.

Featuring a curated collection of over 50 documentary features and shorts, the festival’s film division will stream all screenings and Q&A sessions online. Festival patrons can continue registering online and will be provided instructions on how to stream film events in the coming days. Attendees will be able to login at and then choose which “theater” to stream live. The fest will still hold their Photography & Film Award Ceremony, which will be live-streamed on March 29 announcing this year’s winning films and photographers.

“We have gifted filmmakers bringing us vital stories from over 30 countries this year,” says Film Programming Director Susan Carol Davis. “The year-long search to find this combination of films for our audiences is truly worth every moment it takes to do so.”

Festival patrons can look forward to a diverse lineup that will explore a wide range of themes such as the journey of a filmmaker and his young son as he navigates primary progressive multiple sclerosis, modern working cowboys in America, nomadic beekeepers, a veteran overcoming PTSD & addiction by running the race of his life, and many more.

Thin Line Fest has partnered with Falcon Events, Dallas-based event producers specializing in producing live online and virtual events. Thin Line and Falcon will deploy the latest live online technology via a platform to create a virtual film festival experience for patrons.

Falcon Events’ technology will allow the fest to broadcast introductions from film hosts as well as Q&As following the screenings. Viewers will be able to hear and potentially see filmmakers as they answer viewers’ questions. Falcon Events has very strict protocols in place to ensure each film’s content is not copied, and each film will only be available live.

“Despite having to cancel all in-person festival events, Thin Line Fest is thrilled to continue our tradition of screening the latest and best documentaries from around the world. The response from filmmakers has been overwhelmingly supportive, and we are looking forward to creating a comparable festival experience online,” said Joshua Butler, Thin Line Fest founder and director and Falcon Events COO.

Online access is free, so be sure to visit and join us for an online film and photography experience.
