Grab a favorite drink and snack and be prepared to tell us what you’ve been up to these past three months! Share things you’ve discovered online! Tell a joke! Share your news! This will be a time to reconnect. We’ll be doing our Artist of the Month competition, too, so if you have artwork to enter, please send it to Diane Wright at [email protected] by Saturday, June 6. An email blast will go out Sunday with all the entries for all members to vote on whether you attend Tuesday’s meeting or not. Winners will be announced at the party. See you there!! Color Dance Exhibit
Intake: Wednesday, June 17, 2-5 PM & Thursday, June 18, 10 AM-2 PM
Intake for Color Dance will be done through Sign Up Genius. Please sign up for a time to bring in your art to the MCL Grand. We are doing intake one member at a time due to COVID-19 safety. Everyone who enters the building must wear a mask. If there is still a member at the intake table when you arrive remain 6ft away. Please be on time and exit as soon as your intake process is complete. Also, we are asking that you send images of your art and your entry form via email to Lisa Chittenden at [email protected], Dulce Ruque at [email protected] and Diane Wright at [email protected]. Finally, the MCL informed us that we cannot have a reception, due to the difficulty of social distancing. However, the MCL will be creating a virtual video of the exhibit, and Dulce is putting images of the artworks on our website. Inquires for sales will go through the VAL email. | Mark your Calendar! 3-Day Watercolor Workshop Presented by Nel Dorn Byrd The workshop will consist of daily demos, critiques and individual help. We will talk about design and how to best express one’s chosen subject matter. We’ll talk about working wet into wet, beginning on dry paper and saving the white of the paper. Subject matter will be architecture, landscape, and floral or still life. I will have photo images to work from but students are welcome to bring their own images. Nel has painted with watercolor for fifty years and is a signature member of AWS, NWS, WHS, Western Fed, Rocky Mountain National, and SWS as well as several others.
