The City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program of the Cultural Arts Division, Economic Development Department, seeks proposals from practicing visual artists or artist teams to design, fabricate, install and de-install short-term or time-based exterior artworks and murals at City of Austin Public Library Department sites. The intent for the temporary public art program is to promote tourism, cultivate curiosity, spark imagination, engage the community in a meaningful dialogue about public art, foster work by local artists and cultivate exploration of the City of Austin. Artists are encouraged to create artworks that reflect the district in which they select to exhibit and design artworks that can be easily installed and de-installed. The City of Austin Art in Public Places program requests proposals from practicing artists who live and work in Williamson, Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Burnet, and Blanco counties are eligible to apply.

Budgets for the proposed artworks will range from $3,000 to $10,000.

The City of Odessa and Odessa Arts are seeking qualified artists to create stained glass art to be installed in at the entry and West wing of the new fire station located on 87th street in Odessa, TX. This piece will be an addition to the City of Odessa’s public art collection

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to design and implement an interior installation of original design for LUMCON’s Blue Works located in the Port of Terrebonne in Houma, Louisiana. A successful proposal for this project would include digital, kinetic, or technological components, however full proposals are not required at this time; please submit only those materials described in the submission requirements section. This commission is open nationally to professional artists 18 and over.
