Evolution of Affordable Housing: Photography Exhibition and Panel Discussion
Fort Worth Housing Solutions, City of Fort Worth Department of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Fort Worth Community Arts Center present The Evolution of Affordable Housing, a photography exhibition and panel discussion. Explore the history of public housing across the nation and in Fort Worth, the efforts to de-concentrate poverty through dispersed, mixed-income housing, and the outlook and need for affordable housing in the future. The panel will take place Tuesday, April 20, 2021 AT 12 p.m. live on the Arts Center’s Facebook. Panelists Mary-Margaret Lemons, FWHS president; housing consultant Ramon Guajardo Sr., a former Fort Worth Assistant City Manager; and Printice Gary, founder, and managing partner of Dallas-based multi-family housing developer Carleton Cos., will discuss these issues in a panel moderated by Christina Brooks, director of the City of Fort Worth Department of Diversity and Inclusion.

20 Years of Public Art in Fort Worth: Interview Series
Early Texas, 2005, Vernon Fisher, Fort Worth Convention Center Mark Thistlethwaite, PhD, who served as the Art Commission’s first chairman, recounts the events that led to the City of Fort Worth’s establishment of the Fort Worth Public Art Program in 2001. This is the first in a series of FWPA 20th anniversary interviews with artists, art commissioners, elected officials, and community members, who have played a role in the program’s success.
