Call for Entries Now Open for PAA 125 Show 2021 DEADLINE May 13

Plano Art Association’s 125 Show 2021 is now open to all artists living in a community within 125 miles of Plano. Judges will select the top 80 works for display in the Eisemann Center from June 4 through June 27.

Awards The 2-D, 3-D, and Photography categories will each be awarded a first place ($500), second place ($300), and third place ($150) award and a certificate. Best of Show will receive a $1,000 prize and a certificate. Certificates of Merit ($50 each) will also be given to three finalists in each art genre category.

ENTRY FEE
For PAA members, the entry fee is discounted 25% with a coupon code, which applies to the entry fee and the first work you enter. The same 25% discounted rate is available to PAA members via the coupon code when applied to the second and third work you enter. Remember — members must enter the coupon code for each entry submitted.

For Non-PAA Members, the 125 SHOW 2021 entry fee is $35.00, which includes the 1st entry. The cost of the 2nd and 3rd entries (if any) is also $35.00 each.

Jurors

  • Sara Scherper is a Gallery Educator for the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas.
  • Jane Cornish Smith is an Adjunct Art Instructor at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
  • O. Rufus Lovett is a noted photographer published in Texas Monthly and American Photo magazines.

Exhibit Dates The show runs from Friday, June 4, 2021 through Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Dr., Richardson, TX 75082. There will be no reception this year due to the Covid pandemic per Eisemann Center’s policy. Awards will be announced by e-mail, social media, and website.

Notification of Acceptance or Non-acceptance into Show: Monday, May 24, 2021
Delivery of Artworks to the Eisemann Center: TUESDAY, June 1, 2021 (1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.) – Please contact PAA at [email protected] if you must make different arrangements.

NO THIRD PARTY SHIPMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Show Opens: Friday, June 4, 2021 (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
Hours: Noon till 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Show Closes: Sunday, June 27, 2021
Art Pick-up: Monday, June 28, 2021 (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.)

The Plano Art Association does not handle shipping or pay shipping expenses, either of works to be delivered to the show or sold or unsold works to be picked up after the show has officially ended.
Please contact PAA at [email protected] if you cannot pick up your artwork yourself and need to arrange for someone else to pick it up for you. You must notify PAA in writing (an email is acceptable) to inform us to whom we should release the art.
Shipment, delivery, or pick up of any work sold at or during the show will be the sole responsibility of the artist.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This show is open to all artists living within a 125-mile radius of the city limits of Plano, Texas.
ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
Three Categories 2-D Artwork (Two-Dimensional Artworks) 3-D Artworks (Three-Dimensional Artworks) Photography (Traditional & Digital)
Sizes Maximum dimensions of 3-D entries selected for the show must be able to fit through a standard doorway and the maximum weight is 200 pounds; 2-D frame size: must not exceed 54” in width (including frame). (Please contact PAA at [email protected] if you have an exception to discuss.)
Hanging All wall-hanging works must be wired with D-rings, ready to hang. The gallery is unable to accept or hang works not so equipped; in other words, NO saw tooth hangers, etc. Each piece must be labeled with the name of the artist and title of the work on the back of the piece.
Miscellaneous Submitted artwork must be original and not entered in a previous 125 Show. All work that is selected and hung in the show must remain in the exhibit until the exhibit ends and art is scheduled to be picked up. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Works must not be copies of another artist’s work (including photographs). 
PAA reserves the right to reject any work not meeting eligibility requirements or not deemed appropriate to hang in the gallery, even after the image has been accepted by jurors and delivered to the gallery.
