Meet award-winning Dallas artist Amy Werntz at the Irving Arts Center, Saturday, May 15 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Amy’s exhibition, Amy Werntz: Portraits, in the Arts Center’s Focus Gallery, opens on May 15 and runs through July 10.
Werntz meticulously crafts highly realistic portraits, figures and faces isolated from the environment. Their features, gestures, clothing and props offer only clues to a narrative. She leaves the viewer to fill in the details from their own life experience, to create a story from their history and perhaps to see the importance of each and every life in a society that is often too fascinated with the lure of youth.
