ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Since 2001, each summer Irving Arts Center has held a non-juried exhibition featuring art created by our Art Connection members. During this show, artwork by students and professional and non-professional artists hangs side by side in the beautiful Main Gallery and the adjoining Focus Gallery. Existing and new Art Connection members are invited to submit up to two works of art for this year’s show being held July 24-August 21 . Awards will be given in three categories (Youth, Nonprofessional and Professional) as well as an overall Best of Show.

THEME/DESIGN CHALLENGE
To See and Be Seen: Art & Identity
Inspired by a quote from the artist, Louise Bourgeois, “Art is a way of recognizing oneself,” Art Connection members are invited to create work that examines how art expresses, celebrates and shapes identity. Special prizes will be awarded to members who choose to compete in this category.
