SUPPLY LIST-Bev Boren 1 Day Workshop

BRUSHES: Any brushes you enjoy painting with are fine to use for this class. You will need only a few basic brushes. 1” flat, 1/2” flat, large round (#6, 7 or 8), small round or rigger. I use mop brushes and if you already have some please bring them. If you don’t have them that is ok. I don’t require them as they are quite expensive.

WATERCOLOR PAINTS: You are welcome to use any colors you like. My recommended colors are Cad Yellow Medium, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Orange, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Transparent Oxide Brown (Van Dyke Brown), Neutral Tint, Alizarin Crimson, Permanent Rose, Winsor Red, Indigo, Cerulean Blue, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Dioxazine Violet and Opaque White.

Optional colors: Cobalt Teal and Sap Green

Even though I’ve been painting for a good many years now, I still feel like I’m getting to know my palette, what colors can do, how they work together, their individual characteristics. So, I don’t suggest that this selection is in any way definitive. It’s just the selection of paints that I currently use.

PAPER: I suggest Arches 140lb Cold Press or Rough. My suggestion is to stay away from bargain or student grade papers.

ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES: Water resistant board. Needs to be slightly larger than your paper. Water container – wide enough for your widest brush. Sponge, #2 pencils, Bulldog clips or masking tape, spray bottle, paper towels and kneaded eraser.

I also suggest you bring some extra paper for some practice warm up exercises.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. (mailto:[email protected])
Looking forward to painting with you all!
