Manchester United Flower Show at the Texas Triffid Ranch April 23

Most people are unfamiliar with carnivorous plants other than Venus flytraps, but even fewer have seen a Venus flytrap bloom. All but one species of known carnivorous plant are flowering plants, with the overwhelming majority blooming at about this time of the year. In the tradition of the famed Royal Horticultural Society’s famed Chelsea Flower Show, the Texas Triffid Ranch, Dallas’s pretty much only carnivorous plant gallery, hosts its annual Manchester United Flower Show on Saturday, April 23, running from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, featuring carnivorous plants and their blooms from all over the planet. Come out to see blooms from North American pitcher plants (Sarracenia), Venus flytraps (Dionea), butterworts (Pinguicula), sundews (Drosera), bladderworts (Utricularia), and triggerplants (Stylidium), and if we’re really lucky, from Asian pitcher plants (Nepenthes), South American pitcher plants (Heliamphora), and Australian pitcher plants (Cephalotus). Admission is free and masks are highly encouraged. For more details, directions, and the backstory on the Triffid Ranch, please visit http://www.texastriffidranch.com
