2022 IAA Animal Art Awards Show entry deadline August 25

Location: Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, Irving, TX 75062 Sponsored by the Irving Art Association.

Formerly a national show, the show is open to area artists, with no shipping. Online entries (NO IMAGES REQUIRED) are due Thursday, August 25th, by midnight with drop-off on Saturday, August 27th, 1-4 pm.  If there is room, drop-in entries will be accepted on Saturday. Up to three entries per artist – All entries meeting requirements will be accepted.

Awards will be determined by the juror and based upon entry fees collected.

ENTRY SUMMARY:

Any animal species is acceptable as subject matter for works, both wildlife and domestic, including pets.

Artwork must be an original rendering from personal photographs or observation or your own imagination. Concept, design, and execution should be solely that of the artist. The work should not infringe on any existing copyright or trademark.

Submitted works must have been completed within the previous 3 years (completed after September 1, 2018) and not accepted into a previous IAA Animal Art Exhibit. 

MEDIA CATEGORIES: Oil PaintingWater MediaDry Media (drawing, pastel etc.), Printmaking (hand-pulled), Mixed / Other Media (collage, encaustics, alcohol inks, etc.), and Sculpture/3D (sculpture, jewelry, glass, mosaic, pottery, assemblages, fiber arts, etc.). Categories with less than five entries may be combined with another for award purposes only. No Photography or Computer Art this year.

Presentation & Framing: 2-D and 3-D works must weigh no more than 20 lbs. Glass glazing is acceptable for works 16″x20″ and smaller. Larger works must use plexi if glazing is used. Back stapled, or gallery wrap canvas may be used, and must have finished or painted edges or be framed. Multi-panel art (diptych etc.) must not exceed 36″x36″ all together, or it must be entered as separate pieces. All art must have the artwork title and artist’s information on back, including name and contact info. Wall art must be wired using screw eyes or D rings and ready to hang. NO CLEATS. NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS.

IAA reserves the right to reject any artwork not meeting the requirements listed above or deemed inappropriate to hang with no refund of entry fee.

Sales: All sales must be arranged between the artist and the buyer (IAA will provide referrals.) 10% donation to IAA of the purchase price is requested for all art exhibited in IAA shows. The artist is responsible for all taxes on these sales. Sold artworks cannot be removed until the end of the show.

Liability: Although due care is exercised in handling artwork submitted to IAA, neither the IAA nor its members nor the City of Irving is responsible for artwork loss or damage. Artists should carry their own insurance.

Images are not required but if provided, will be used for publicity. By submitting an entry, the artist grants permission for IAA to use any image of the artwork in any digital or print promotional materials and catalog.
