The Goldmark Cultural Center is proud to present “Freedom”, a pop-up exhibition featuring new paintings by Goldmark artist Kristie Golden. “Freedom” is on display in the Goldmark Artists’ Showcase from 3 July 2023 until 16 July 2023, with an opening reception on Saturday, 15 July 2023 from 1.00 – 4.00pm. Kristie will be present at the reception to respond to questions or comments about her work.
About the Exhibition
“Freedom” is a journey through ADHD diagnosis, grief, and acceptance, and the roots that brought me home.
Free Painting style. Freedom from old thinking. Freedom from the shame of feeling different/broken.
Freedom from the grief of lost relationships that could have been more had I only known.
The growth and freedom over the last 2 years as I accept the realizations that ADHD had a huge impact on who I am today. It also has an impact on my tomorrow. I now have tools, but often forget to use them or I can become overwhelmed.
Freedom to express Myself and my beliefs. You can see the work I’ve asked the Lord into. The ones that are not so great are all Kristie.
Freedom to paint over and enhance until it’s right. This gives me the ability to ruin things too.
