Artist Statement
What a privilege to be given this impulse to create a work of art…! To
have the tremendous and captivating enjoyment of producing art…
To be able to pour onto a blank canvas your innermost feelings, your
creativity, your imagination is to me a gift I find compulsive, addictive.
I am a self-taught visual artist. I received drawing lessons as a child and then in elementary school I learned to paint with tempera.
With an M.D. degree obtained in my native country of Argentina I emigrated to the US in 1966. After retiring from a long medical practice in Texas I rediscovered my love for the visual arts and dedicated my full time attention to this endeavor.
My current interests are mostly in acrylic abstract and impressionistic paintings, drawing, both color pencils and charcoal. I’m also constantly trying new mediums and ideas.
I strive to paint with bright, happy colors and unusual themes. I favor controlled but dynamic, sweeping brushstrokes.
I am a member of several art organizations, both local and national, international.
