Price $40 – payable to instructor at workshop

We will be mixing all of the colors around you with a limited palette.
We will also learn tonal values.

Plus we also are going to paint a small painting to apply what we’re learning on color!

Art supplies (acrylics or oils)

Please bring the following art supplies:
Burnt Umber, cadmium yellow or primary yellow, cadmium red, titanium white, phthalo blue, pyrrole rubine or alizarin crimson, French ultramarine blue, cadmium red scarlet,
Other:
water container
paper towels
Brushes any size
10×10 canvas
This technique can be used with either oils or acrylics

About the Artist:

Ruben Contreras was born in Guatemala, the oldest of fourteen brothers and sisters. At an early age, he began to develop his artistic talent. He now lives in Grand Prairie, Texas, with his wife and children.

The subject of much of his art reveals his passion for nature. His paintings are done primarily in acrylic, and he exhibits great skill in capturing realistic images and emotional content.

Reuben is a member of the Arlington Visual Arts Association as well as IAA and regularly teaches painting to private students. He also teaches workshops through the Irving Art Association.

He actively exhibits his work and has won awards in juried art competitions in Arlington, DeSoto, Irving, Midlothian, and Granbury.
