Featured Artist Kim Lanus

Art became a way of life for Kim after being deeply moved by the art of Toulouse Lautrec, Rosetti, Raphael, Albrecht Durer and later Carriere and Edward Hopper while attending The University of Texas at Arlington. She had a great love for the study of people, and humanity and received a degree in psychology, but always kept art in her heart and continued to study after graduating. Kim’s subject matter is of the old west or of a devotional nature. She typically works in acrylic on canvas, board, or paper. She believes that color heals, inspires, and forms her passion for western life. Kim has won many awards in juried shows as well as Best of Show for the Art Institute of Chicago. Kim is often written up in the “Observer” in Dallas and she has painted over eight hundred paintings that are found in collections from New York to San Diego.
